{"id":12,"date":"2009-12-31T19:35:52","date_gmt":"2009-12-31T10:35:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.eflclassroom.com\/wordpress\/?p=12"},"modified":"2011-12-17T20:01:14","modified_gmt":"2011-12-18T01:01:14","slug":"poetry-101","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ddeubel.me\/poetry\/poetry-101\/","title":{"rendered":"Poetry 101"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>She said\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 it was<\/p>\n<p>stupid\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 meaningless\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 empty<\/p>\n<p>this poem.<\/p>\n<p>That it did nothing for her &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>no thing depends upon<\/p>\n<p>a red wheel<\/p>\n<p>barrow<\/p>\n<p>glazed with rain<\/p>\n<p>water.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Yet, she aspired to greatness.<\/p>\n<p>Cracking shells with her dull pen<\/p>\n<p>she looked for the elusive pearl<\/p>\n<p>to string around her slender neck.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>She aspired to greatness<\/p>\n<p>with an ungreat full mind.<\/p>\n<p>And I two rows back<\/p>\n<p>struck dumb<\/p>\n<p>by her thick, reaching thighs<\/p>\n<p>and the<\/p>\n<p>vain pounding of her hard head,<\/p>\n<p>tried to overlook her inconsistencies<\/p>\n<p>thinking I might<\/p>\n<p>see eternity in a grain of sand,<\/p>\n<p>that I might<\/p>\n<p>jump down from my high and firy cross.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But I could not,<\/p>\n<p>the farmer in my green soul<\/p>\n<p>knowing<\/p>\n<p>that so much does depend upon<\/p>\n<p>a red wheel<\/p>\n<p>barrow<\/p>\n<p>glazed with rain<\/p>\n<p>water.<\/p>\n<p>That so much does depend upon<\/p>\n<p>empty beauty<\/p>\n<p>full<\/p>\n<p>filled with in<\/p>\n<p>significance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; She said\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 it was stupid\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 meaningless\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 empty this poem.
