{"id":153,"date":"2010-01-27T19:06:07","date_gmt":"2010-01-28T00:06:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ddeubel.me\/poetry\/?p=153"},"modified":"2011-11-03T19:32:49","modified_gmt":"2011-11-03T23:32:49","slug":"after-auschwitz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ddeubel.me\/poetry\/after-auschwitz\/","title":{"rendered":"After Auschwitz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8220;After Aushwitz there is no more poetry&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8212; Adorno<\/p>\n<p><br class=\"spacer_\" \/><\/p>\n<p>These are hard times.<\/p>\n<p><br class=\"spacer_\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The land frozen under the weight<\/p>\n<p>of a white littered from above<\/p>\n<p><br class=\"spacer_\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The rivers holding their breath<\/p>\n<p>blue and still in patient repose<\/p>\n<p><br class=\"spacer_\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The oceans as always watch in retreat<\/p>\n<p>to the depths where death is unknown<\/p>\n<p><br class=\"spacer_\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Man has tamed nature by distempered dance<\/p>\n<p>unhinged from himself, the mirror holds his story.<\/p>\n<p><br class=\"spacer_\" \/><\/p>\n<p>What left to do?<\/p>\n<p><br class=\"spacer_\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Pen to paper<\/p>\n<p>paper to fire<\/p>\n<p>a little light<\/p>\n<p>a shadow cast,<\/p>\n<p>so we may know<\/p>\n<p>we are still there<\/p>\n<p>and can be<\/p>\n<p>scared of ourselves.<\/p>\n<p><br class=\"spacer_\" \/><\/p>\n<p><br class=\"spacer_\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;After Aushwitz there is no more poetry&#8221; &#8212; Adorno These are hard times.
