More than 40 years<\/p>\n

have spun by me like<\/p>\n

a drunk hurricane.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I have spent my life<\/p>\n

going here, doing there<\/p>\n

a homeless mind.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Now, I ache for<\/p>\n

my land,<\/p>\n

the unswum lakes and<\/p>\n

fields of pine.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Two oceans away<\/p>\n

gray hairs sprout on<\/p>\n

my inflated head<\/p>\n

the travels only kept<\/p>\n

me dizzy, busy.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I skipped between continents,<\/p>\n

got As and gave As.<\/p>\n

Spoke to applauding audiences<\/p>\n

and slept in Hyatts on satin sheets.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

What for?<\/p>\n

Better I stayed home<\/p>\n

and chopped wood.
