<\/p>\n
Some nights I think<\/p>\n
\u201cwhat\u2019s the use of it\u201d<\/p>\n
console myself with<\/p>\n
the thought that somehow<\/p>\n
all this shit<\/p>\n
sickness, sex and song<\/p>\n
does matter<\/p>\n
and that I\u2019ll have<\/p>\n
a few words cut from<\/p>\n
this cardboard life<\/p>\n
to show for it.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
then the morning<\/p>\n
and I read the newspaper<\/p>\n
about a man killed<\/p>\n
from debris<\/p>\n
falling from the heavens,<\/p>\n
of 10,000 Bangladeshi\u2019s<\/p>\n
now bloated carcasses<\/p>\n
courtesy of a monsoon<\/p>\n
or<\/p>\n
of a child<\/p>\n
tossed from an overpass<\/p>\n
onto the freeway below.<\/p>\n
and it is all I can do<\/p>\n
to get<\/p>\n
one foot to follow the other<\/p>\n
and hide my tears<\/p>\n
from a god undeserving<\/p>\n
as those silly questions<\/p>\n
I ask myself<\/p>\n
some nights.<\/p>\n
