\nbeing done with
\nthis or that
\nhere nor there,
\nabsurd like
\na grain of wheat
\nunder the conveyor belt
\nor
\nwedding tin cans
\nabandoned in the corner
\nof a newly paved parking lot
\na
\ncheap echo
\nI hiss my strange innocence
\nagainst the
\nrhythm and dance
\neven closing time
\neven the proprietor’s golden smile
\neven the alluring twilight
\nthrowing shadows out the door.<\/p>\n

In breaking up the world
\nmetaphor by metaphor
