{"id":338,"date":"2011-09-15T11:20:11","date_gmt":"2011-09-15T15:20:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ddeubel.me\/poetry\/?p=338"},"modified":"2011-12-17T18:43:53","modified_gmt":"2011-12-17T23:43:53","slug":"to-li-po","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ddeubel.me\/poetry\/to-li-po\/","title":{"rendered":"To Li Po"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I am poor as a light wind.<br \/>\nMy teeth are falling out<br \/>\nlike the unseen leaves do<br \/>\neach fall in valleys undiscovered.<\/p>\n<p>I have no home.<br \/>\nEven the rats<br \/>\nno longer come with<br \/>\ntheir day glow eyes<br \/>\nto wait for my last crumbs.<\/p>\n<p>I know nothing.<br \/>\nThe whole world<br \/>\nshifts under me when I<br \/>\nwalk in search of work<br \/>\na way out<br \/>\nof the misery that isn&#8217;t<br \/>\nmy making.<\/p>\n<p>Hospitals refuse to admit me<br \/>\nso diseased I am.<\/p>\n<p>My last love left with<br \/>\nthe man I used to be.<br \/>\nI don&#8217;t even remember anymore<br \/>\nwhat I am doing here.<\/p>\n<p>But in all that<br \/>\nbecause of all that<br \/>\nI am happy holding<br \/>\nthe emptiness<br \/>\nof my wine bottle.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; I am poor as a light wind.
