{"id":37,"date":"2010-01-02T23:57:03","date_gmt":"2010-01-02T14:57:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ddeubel.me\/poetry\/?p=37"},"modified":"2011-12-17T20:04:27","modified_gmt":"2011-12-18T01:04:27","slug":"the-broken-fall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ddeubel.me\/poetry\/the-broken-fall\/","title":{"rendered":"The Broken Fall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I hate the fact that everything breaks<br \/>\nHearts and horses, especially plates.<br \/>\nA man would like to sleep but then awakes<br \/>\nThe weather so sunny shifts, never waits.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Everything breaks, smashed or just a bit<br \/>\nBuildings crumble, teeth are chipped<br \/>\nThe white shirt gets a spot, a lady takes a fit.<br \/>\nMorning brings daybreak, the champion is whipped.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Cars stop in the middle of nowhere, for no reason.<br \/>\nCoffee breaks, cigarettes, tea and cakes<br \/>\nBroken legs and second acts<br \/>\nRelationships and broken backs<br \/>\nVoices and promises and hymens<br \/>\nBanks and records, even cut diamonds.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It makes you see so clear<br \/>\nHow if nothing ever broke<br \/>\nNothing would happen, appear.<br \/>\nLife, living, just a broken fall<br \/>\nBefore we\u2019re returned to the bottom<\/p>\n<p>The unchanging all.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; I hate the fact that everything breaks Hearts and horses, especially plates.
