Here it is halfway through winter<\/p>\n
And I have yet to find<\/p>\n
A way to your heart before<\/p>\n
The snow piles up so high against the door<\/p>\n
That I cannot get out from myself.<\/p>\n
…..<\/p>\n
Yet the sun shines<\/p>\n
Through the window, through my eyes,<\/p>\n
Through my mind, through to you<\/p>\n
Yet not your heart<\/p>\n
Which escapes in the shadows never<\/p>\n
To find my door and dig me out.<\/p>\n
…….<\/p>\n
this winter half empty<\/p>\n
And I can’t wait for spring, the filling<\/p>\n
Where the only shadows are those I cast,<\/p>\n
The only heart I can’t find, God’s,<\/p>\n
But first I must drink up the winter<\/p>\n
And find myself in good Canadian whiskey<\/p>\n
And the warmth of a well insulated house<\/p>\n
