Airflight, cars, too many cars<\/p>\n
radio, TV, telephone, video, computers<\/p>\n
social security, the pill, condoms, AIDs<\/p>\n
equality, justice, no brotherhood.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Steel, plastic, teflon, concrete<\/p>\n
(but the earth abideth forever)<\/p>\n
Picasso, Jackson, graffiti<\/p>\n
canned food, microwaved food, fast food<\/p>\n
so many starved \u2013 no food<\/p>\n
vaccines, by pass surgery, transplants<\/p>\n
everyone still always dying.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Man on the moon, speed, nuclear bomb baboom<\/p>\n
the ashes of Birkenau bloom.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
A little love and peace, no understanding<\/p>\n
much profit, no prophets<\/p>\n
Russian, Chinese, Cuban, Iranian revolutions<\/p>\n
But the world still goes around the sun and itself.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
National buildings, nation building<\/p>\n
Trinidad, Tajekistan, El Salvador, Kosovo, North Korea, East Timor<\/p>\n
looking up there is only one sky.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Papers, books, magazines, TV, radio, information ages<\/p>\n
who can remember what was said<\/p>\n
the paper burns, the words fly away.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Pop stars, fat politicians, scruffy generals, Elvis, Ali<\/p>\n
Einstein, Churchill, Mickey Mouse, Hitler, Ghandi, Stalin<\/p>\n
billions of others but I forget their names.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
A lot of noise, less space unless up in space<\/p>\n
floods, famines, the fixing up<\/p>\n
accumulation, credit, yo-yos and hula hoops<\/p>\n
every man will one day stoop.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
